Chapter Membership


•    Membership in the Dallas Ft-Worth Metroplex Chapter of NIGP is open to local and regional public procurement professionals, actively employed in the field.
•    Our membership year runs January - December. Dues must be paid prior to February 1 of each year, or an additional $10 fee is applied. Dues are not prorated.
•    For-profit suppliers of goods or services (vendors) that market to or may potentially provide goods and services to a public agency ARE NOT eligible for membership.

• Our Chapter offers resources, local meetings and events specific to your local interests. DFW chapters maintain our own web sites, publish newsletters and local membership directories, provide employment referral services and sponsor conference and trade show events.
• Meet procurement professionals in your area that represent all facets of public procurement to compare the value of local information, share referrals, strategies, thoughts and support.

Professional Development

• Our Chapters sponsor NIGP educational seminars, professional development programs.
• Chapters provide educational scholarship and professional awards programs that bring increased recognition and respect among your colleagues and within your community.
Influence Outcomes and Industry Standards
• By promoting uniform public purchasing laws and simplified standards and specifications, involved chapter members have the ability to champion a cause they believe in and influence change within the industry.

Enhance Leadership Skills

• No cost leadership development, training and workshops.
• Involvement as a chapter officer, committee or board member, can develop skills inleading and managing a group of volunteers--skills that are transferable to your own organization.

Annual Membership Fees

Individual Member 
All persons employed by a governmental body and directly and/or indirectly involved with the purchasing functions of that body are eligible for Full Membership.

Lifetime Member
Members who have fifteen (15) ore more years of purchasing experience may apply for Lifetime Chapter Membership at retirement or age sixty two (62).  You must provide verification of fifteen (15) years experience in purchasing.

Student Member
The student must be enrolled part-time or full-time in an accredited community college, college or university and actively pursuing an under-graduate or postgraduate degree in business or public administration, public purchasing or materials management, or related field of study.
