As a chapter of NIGP, The Institute for Public Procurement, our mission and activities are focused on:
- Raising and maintaining the standards and ethics of all governmental purchasing and materials management departments, agencies and organizations.
- Studying, recommending and aiding in implementation of improvements in the field of endeavor to obtain the optimum value of products and services without prejudice.
- Promotion and fostering of the professional competence and stature of all persons engaged in this profession through the encouragement of professional certification.
- Engendering a professional attitude on the part of all members to accomplish their missions with loyalty to their organization and with fairness to all.
NIGP, The Institute for Public Procurement is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to helping governments manage tax dollars wisely.
Through membership in NIGP, purchasing professionals are able to access benchmark and research information, receive technical assistance and advice, and network with industry leaders and other professionals within the public purchasing field.
The organization assists its members in implementing uniform, accepted ways of doing business that meet the highest ethical and professional standards while promoting excellence, enhancing effectiveness and increasing public trust.
